Honk, Wail & Moan cross paths with the music of Sun Ra, Charles Mingus, Ellington, Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, Raymond Scott, Lightnin Hopkins, Howlin Wolf and Stravinsky and are influenced by Avant Garde to New Orleans Traditional to Cartoon music. HWM mainly perform the original music of our members, especially the late Brian A Casey and Mark B Greenwood. Formed in 1991, HWM have performed all over Columbus, the Midwest and even Thailand, Philadelphia, Virginia Beach and NYC. We’ve been called a lot of things too: “Roundly entertaining; raucous; inventive; serious musicianship with a wacky sense of humor; swinging in a head-nodding, foot-tapping, enveloping fashion” among other things!

Honk, Wail and Moan  is committed to the idea that guys and dolls need to go out, have a few drinks, dance with each other and snap fingers.  The cookin' rhythm section supports a hot horn section that backs up the always pleasing vocals that the band's audience has grown to know and love.  Since forming in the fall of 1991, Honk, Wail and Moan has entertained thousands of this earth's finest in many cities, over ten states (of the Union or of the Mind - you be the judge), and at least three countries and two continents with its mix of hot swingin' classics and jumpin' originals.  Honk, Wail and Moan has truly earned its name.  (How, we can't tell you.)
